Raâk

Raâk was born in 1940 in Brittany in Finistère.

At the age of 16, inhabited by malaise, she painfully leaves the “Gast country” for Paris where her quest for the Grail begins.

1975, year of assessment. The path taken seems to her like a total failure.

She struggles in a serious existential crisis. The “safeguard” writing that she has always practiced becomes itself powerless and is of no help to her.

1976: she discovers in her neighborhood a workshop of free creation where the clay is proposed as therapeutic material. And it is the improbable rise towards life which makes strange jubilant passages through the hammering of her suffering.

“Earth!

Half a century of burning complicity…

And then?

Who among us has drifted away from the other?

Quietly, serenely it has happened.

Half a century during which you have held me at arm’s length above the abyss.

Together we have brought forth a people of earth thirsty for mysteries, metamorphoses, love, and knowledge. Confronted with the human trace, this people has intrigued and often moved it.

In this regard, a funny memory comes back to me.

One day while I was participating in a mediumship session, the intercessory medium addressed me.

From my navel, he saw beings of clay springing forth held back by their umbilical cord. They leaped into space as soon as they could. The medium perceived them at Stonehenge and in the forest of Meudon perched on a master tree. The captivated audience wanted to know more. I told them that in Bègles, at the Museum of Outsider Art, they could meet them. Dreams of living clay began to shine in people’s eyes.

“Creation is infinite,” whistles my pilgrim’s staff. So into my bag rushes… I can already hear hearts beating. From the deepest black of the night, white beings emerge, surprised, amazed. Sometimes ochre memories accompany them. Under my feet, the earth smiles.”
